4 Ways to Make LinkedIn Work for You.

It blows my mind that more sales people arent using LinkedIn to brand themselves in the "niche" or to find prospects. Even if youre late in the game and dont have a profile, NOW is the time to get one. Are you an industry sales veteran with only about 10 more years left in your career? Trying to hold out? Guess what; there are 4 other competitors networking with your current customers and prospects on LinkedIn as we speak.

Here are 4 ways to make LinkedIn work for you now.

 

Advanced Searches: Get acclimated with "Lead Builder" and "Saved Searches". This is one of the best ways to find the lists of people that you need to start building relationships with. Saved Searches will also send you a weekly update of the new connections in that search criteria that have been added into your network.

 

100% Completed Profile: Make sure that youre profile is filled out completely and that you have given at least 5 recommendations. (give to receive!)

 

Post an Update: This is a section that most salespeople dont use. Many say "I dont have time!". Youre already looking at industry blogs, news and video.....mind as well share that with your connections. As you share, your face will be shown on the home page of your connections more and more. This is key in starting to build that relationship using repetitive and useful information.

 

Twitter Integration: Create a professional twitter profile and display it on your LinkedIn profile. You'll be surprised how many people will follow you after doing so. You can also sync up LinkedIn and Twitter together so the useful and relevant content you share with your connections will also display on your Twitter.
